USDA/FSA Farm Programs

USDA / Farm Service
Agency Program...

  • Environmental Quality Incentive....... Program (EQIP)
The EQIP is a cost share program that supplies growers with economic incentives for dust control methods and aids growers to improve irrigation efficiencies via installation of water saving projects such as micro-irrigation and underground pipeline systems.

  • Trade Adjustment Assistance Program (TAA)
The TAA program compensates growers who are farming commodities that have been impacted economically by foreign trade.  The specific commodity in question must have encountered a 20% reduction in price based on foreign trade importation in the preceding five marketing years.  This project is currently in place and will be available until the year 2007

  • Crop Disaster Program (CDP)
The Crop Disaster Program aids growers that have encountered severe crop losses from natural disasters.  Compensation is based on claim in comparison to the growers past APH if crop insurance has been in place in years past, or using the county average if MPCI was not in place during the year of claim. Normally growers are compensated at a higher level of compensation that have crop insurance in place during the year of disaster, and growers that have select levels above CAT are also compensated at a higher pricing level.
